The KRM insert is very similar to the “Mirror Radius” backdraft that Dijet offers. Rather than having wiper geometry on the periphery of the insert, the KRM has a large radius. This outer radius acts like a barrel tool when tilted parallel to a tapered surface. The KRM is great for applications with a lot of flat surfaces and gradual side wall curvature. The insert fits right into the Mirror Radius body and has excellent repeatability. The side radius allows for larger depths while maintaining a shallow cusp height, therefore, improved efficiency and surface roughness can be achieved.
