The QM mini is a multi-purpose cutter that can high feed, square up and finish. A variety of inserts all fit into the same body. These inserts can machine a vast majority of steel and are very economical. The “chip breaker” insert is great for milling high-temp alloys, while the ground “mirror” inserts speed up finishing processes due to the number of pockets. Also, there are inserts designed for hard milling up to 60 HRC. Being such a small insert with little tool pressure, it is excellent for 5-axis spindles. This cutter has proven to be extremely cost effective against end mills when pocketing and z-level roughing.
