The Backdraft tool was designed for both roughing and finishing applications, predominantly for cavity and profile milling. There are a few types of inserts, including a CBN tipped for bottom face finishing. The DBD-F style has a 2mm side wiper for finishing both side and bottom surfaces. The DBD-30 insert has a wider wiper and a large corner radius shape for better surface finishing.
